About Belize

Belize is a beautiful and unique jewel In the Caribbean as it contains rainforests, creeks, rivers, lagoons, Maya mountains, and breathe-taking Caribbean Sea islands. This allows it to have its own special place that helps to make it stand out from other locations within Central America. It has the unique distinction and recognition of being the sole English and Spanish speaking nation in Central America. Belize is located in Central America and it is bordered to the north by Mexico, to the south and west by Guatemala, and to the east by the Caribbean Sea and has an overall climate that can be described as sub-tropical. The humidity, while it is high, is rarely overbearing for long and is most evident along the coast. The mean annual humidity is 83% but many days the humidity is masked by the cooling breeze provided by the Caribbean Sea. The Mayans were the first to settle in Belize, as evident by the dozen or more protected archaeological sites that they left behind and the sites still stand tall and strong up to this day. Every mound that you find is a piece of history that helps to unearth the ancient history of our jewel. Most Belizeans are bilingual.
